PRESS RELEASE:

Vancouver, BC - Victoria-based indie-soul pop group Lovecoast are excited to announce the release of their brand new single 'Lonely' with the premiere of the lyric video today at BeatRoute Magazine'Lonely' is the first single from their debut full-length album, The Trip, which is set for release in early 2018.The new single will officially be released on Friday, November 3rd, just ahead of some local tour dates, including their very first show at The Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver opening up for Current Swell on November 4th. See below for full tour schedule.

Since their inception in 2013, Lovecoast has been delivering a new sound that won’t go unnoticed. By bringing together a mix of modern-day indie pop and dreamy ’70s R&B grooves, the band has created something bouncy and infectious. Lovecoast finds inspiration in modern acts like The Cat Empire and Lake Street Dive, and classic legends such as Billie Holiday and Bruce Springsteen. The group has been riding a wave of success since the release of their debut EP Chasing Tides in 2014 and they hope to keep the momentum going with the release of The Trip this spring.

"The Trip is our first full-length album and we're really proud of it," says Lovecoast lead singer Danielle Sweeney. "The first single 'Lonely' is a song that we've had for awhile. It's actually one of the first songs we ever wrote. The song's lyrics are based around the themes of loneliness and wanting what you can't have, that gut feeling we've all experienced when we've got our eyes on someone else's prize. Secretly, or not so secretly in this case, we all ask the question, and ‘Lonely’ begs to know what could happen 'if you were lonely'?"

Both Chasing Tides and their upcoming debut LP The Trip were produced by Tom Dobrzanski (Said The Whale, The Zolas) at Monarch Studios in Vancouver. The Chasing Tides EP received much critical acclaim and several film and TV placements around its release. The stand-out track 'The Floor' currently has over 72K streams on Spotify. Lovecoast played at the 10th Anniversary of Rifflandia this year and have played countless other festivals including: JunoFest, ShoreFest, Tall Tree Music Festival, Wapiti Music Festival and Pemberton Music Festival.

Look for Lovecoast - ‘Lonely’ on Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, and other digital retailers and streaming services on Friday, November 3rd. For more information and the most up-to-date tour schedule, please visit: www.lovecoastmusic.com

Nanaimo, you feel like home

If you didn't already know, we're big fans of Nanaimo, BC. So much so, that two of our members (Matt & Andrew) still live there. The full story goes way back to our Vancouver Island University days, when we were all fresh optimistic young bucks on a mission to learn all we could about music. Now, almost 10 years later, we're still playing together and it's been a pretty wild ride. We've changed, evolved, grown and have finally come into our own. All thanks to a beautiful little harbour city on Vancouver Island, because if it wasn't for Nanaimo I'm almost certain Lovecoast wouldn't exist.

Thank you for showing up for us Saturday Nanaimo, and thank you for always being a community we can feel a part of.

All my love,

Danielle

RIFFLANDIA FESTIVAL 2016

Dreams came true this year at Rifflandia! I finally got to play the first festival I ever attended, and quite likely the festival that started this whole musical obsession of mine. See in 2010 my best bud Morgan insisted a few friends and myself venture with him from Nanaimo to his hometown of Victoria for a weekend of live music, and beer...my intro also to Phillips Brewery's amazing beer. As jazz majors it clearly didn't take much to convince us and it's all history from there. I was hooked, the crowds, the performances, the energy! A festival like no other I'd later find out (let's just say I've been to my fair share of fests since 2010...).

So this performance was something special, a reassurance of sorts that even though we are just a little old indie band, we're doing something right. So thank you to Atomique Productions, Do250, Anian, The Zone 91.3, Victoria Music Scene, Darren Ho Video, Rocktographers and everyone else who makes the Victoria music community what it is. You're all fucking rockstars.

WE LOVE YOU VANCOUVER

Well that was one of the best weekends we have EVER HAD thanks to LG104.3FM and The Harmony Arts Festival! Saturday night we took the stage in English Bay opening for Trooper and played to 500,000 people! Yup. 500,000 people. And Sunday we played to the kindest, most attentive audience of music lovers who truly made us feel like we were exactly where we are supposed to be. It was an insane rush like we've never felt before and solidified exactly why we've been pushing ourselves for the last 3 years. Now we have some changes coming in the near future, but with change comes opportunity. We are refreshed, inspired and ecstatic to get into the studio after this busy summer and get cracking. But we aren't done yet! We've got a few more before we go into hiding for awhile, hope to see you out there friends!
